A career adjudicator

Ms. Deborah Morrish is a career adjudicator who has worked for over 35 years. She has served as the vice-chair of the Ontario Social Assistance Review Board and the assistant deputy chair of the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada. She has also worked as a consultant for UNHCR in South Africa. Throughout her career, she has advocated for refugees, developed ongoing adjudicative strategic plans, and served on various boards and committees.

A lifelong learner, Ms. Deborah Morrish earned two Masters degrees and a diploma in French from the Sorbonne in Paris. She also holds certification in Alternative Dispute Resolution Parts One and Two. In addition to her extensive education, Deborah is a proud mother and an advocate of lifelong learning. She holds a number of graduate and undergraduate degrees and has also pursued various professional courses. She has a certificate in Management for Executives from the Canada School of Public Service.

She has worked as an educator and in various capacities within the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada.
